S10 E8 – Stages Of Womanhood Art Show

Stages of Womanhood is an art exhibition that brought together the powerful works of three female artists Michelle Lubin, Galina Marcus, and Galina Semenova.

The works they showcased explored various themes such as identity, transformation, and resilience. Held at Artist & Craftsman Supply in San Diego and featured virtually through Ali Jay Fine Art Gallery in ArtGateVR, this collection resonated deeply with audiences, offering a moving exploration of femininity, motherhood, and self-discovery. For those who were captivated by this experience, or did not have the chance to attend, there may be a reshowing of the exhibition ahead. Stay tuned for updates as new creative endeavors take shape.

About Michelle Lubin

Michelle Lubin is a figurative artist specializing in drawing, her signature portraits in pencil on wood panels has exhibited on both coasts since 2010, currently with 33 Contemporary Gallery in Miami and later this month at the LA Art Show under the Teravarna Booth. Coinciding during Women’s Month, Lubin’s artwork will be among those being auctioned benefitting the Museum of Motherhood in Tampa, FL.

Through her gestural drawing series Mother, Michelle Lubin captures the raw and emotional journey of motherhood. Her incomplete, dynamic works reflect the interruptions and transformations inherent in balancing motherhood, artistry, and selfhood. Influenced by the powerful energy of women-led rock bands, Lubin’s art becomes a community-driven installation, symbolizing the strength found in collective support—the “forest” of women and caretakers navigating life together.

About Galina Marcus

A fine artist, a member of the Carlsbad Oceanside Art League, winner of a number of the local juried shows, and a founder and CEO of San Diego Art Directory.

Galina Marcus’s watercolor series Transition To Motherhood presented at the Stages of Womanhood art show vividly portrays the physical and emotional intensity of childbirth and the first days of motherhood. By exaggerating colors and embracing a whimsical, imperfect style, Marcus challenges the sanitized ideals of parenting. Her work conveys the messy, contradictory, and deeply human aspects of this transformative stage, offering humor and vulnerability as tools for resilience and connection.
